For more than 50 years, the International Children’s Fund has been committed to creating sustainable improvements in the lives of desperately poor children and families across Africa, India, and Pakistan. One of the most powerful tools we have in this mission is education.
At ICF, we believe education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty. Or as Dr. David Bruenning often tells the children we serve: “The more you learn, the more you earn.” Education equips young people not only with knowledge but with the confidence and skills needed to build better lives for themselves, their families, and their communities.
A Holistic Educational Experience
ICF supports educational initiatives at all our missions. This includes the construction and operation of primary and secondary schools, scholarships, and post-secondary technical and vocational training. These programs ensure that children and young adults can grow with the tools needed to achieve self-sufficiency and hope.
For children in Liberia and beyond, education must be paired with holistic care, support that meets physical, spiritual, and emotional needs alongside academics. That’s why our long-term partner, Great Commission Victory Ministries (GCVM), has become such an extraordinary force for change.

Since 2008, ICF has worked hand-in-hand with GCVM to ensure children not only have access to classrooms, but also to the vital resources that allow them to thrive while they learn. Beyond building a K–12 school—Victory Life Academy—currently educating more than 500 students, GCVM has also developed a network of support systems including a clinic and a church that play a critical role in students’ lives.
Victory University for Women
ICF and GCVM are now undertaking our most ambitious educational project to date: Victory University for Women (VUW). This initiative is designed to close the gender gap in education, training, and employment by creating a safe space for women to pursue higher learning.
The university will offer a comprehensive range of programs, including STEM, Business and Entrepreneurship, Arts and Humanities, Health Sciences, Women’s Studies, Leadership, Global Studies, Media and Communications, and Environmental Studies. These courses will empower women with the knowledge and confidence to excel in their chosen fields and uplift their communities.

The exterior of the building is complete, plumbing and electrical systems are underway, and interior finishes are in progress. With doors and windows in transit, the university is on track to open its doors to students in August 2026.
How You Can Help
Projects like Victory Life Academy and Victory University for Women are only possible through the generosity of donors. By becoming a Hope Ambassador, a monthly supporter, you can help sustain these life-changing programs and ensure that children and young women continue to have access to education, clean water, healthcare, and hope for a brighter tomorrow.
At ICF, more than 99.7% of every dollar donated goes directly to mission services, with less than 0.3% spent on administration. You can be assured your gift is making the greatest possible impact.
Join Us in Changing Lives
Every gift, large or small, is an answer to prayer and an investment in the life of a child. Together, we can create opportunities that break cycles of poverty and open doors to brighter futures.
