Christmas Generosity

The holiday season is traditionally a time of giving: giving gifts to our family and friends, giving our time to loved ones, and giving of ourselves to help the less fortunate. I am always amazed by the generosity I see during the Christmas season. What amazes me most is the generosity of children who want to share what little they have with others.

Last Christmas, Pastor Paasewe of our Living Word Missions touched the lives of more than 800 desperately poor children living at orphanages in northwestern Liberia. He distributed food and small Christmas gifts — the first time these children experienced the joy of Christmas.

This year, Pastor Paasewe is asking for our help to provide funding for 250 orphans to attend school. It is their dream to attend school and to gain the education and skills to escape the vicious cycle of poverty. Pastor Paasewe has dedicated his life to helping others. He asks nothing for himself but pleads for assistance to help those less fortunate.

The Bible says that God sent us a Savior in Jesus Christ. God gave us a great gift and wanted to be our Savior.

You can be a Savior to children around the world this Christmas

The Best Gifts Can’t Be Wrapped

As you plan your holiday shopping, we encourage you to give your friends and family the gift of food, a water well, classroom desks, or deworming medicine for those who need it most. Instead of being delivered by UPS or the Post Office, have it delivered by the International Children’s Fund to the people who really need it — people whose lives depend upon your generosity.

Imagine how your friends or family would react if you gave, on their behalf, a desperately poor child in Africa the hope for a better life. The gift of clean water to a village that currently relies on contaminated surface water, or the gift of desks or books to a new girls’ college in Liberia that will create opportunities for tens of thousands of young women.
